Dear Kindergarten Families,
This month we are celebrating March is Reading Month (MIRM) at Thurston with many special events organized by our librarian, Ms. Burau. See a description of some of the special events HERE. Please note that students are invited to dress up as their favorite book character on Friday, 3/15/24. You can also check out the MIRM calendar HERE. Photos below: Our class got "book'd" and was excited to read the suprise books we found on our door!
In the area of Math, we have been learning about the difference between 2D and 3D shapes and learning the names of some common 3D shapes. Students are invited to bring in (small) 3D shapes from home to add to our 3D shape museum! In Math, we have also been working on writing numbers by 1s on our number scrolls. More empty paper towel tubes are needed, so please send them in if you have any at home. Tomorrow students will be bring home an overview of even more of the things we are learning about in Unit 6 of Math.
Thurston is having it's first Stuffie Sleepover fundraiser on Thursday 3/21//24 and you can click HERE to learn more!
