Dear Kindergarten Families,
I hope that you enjoyed the Spring Break with your kids! Check out a photo of from before the break of our Pajama Day at Thurston!
This week in Kindergarten, one of our math activities was to add together numbers on both sides of dominoes to determine the sum. With partners, students then matched the sum to a number card with the same value. See some photos below of kids working on domino sums! This week we are wrapping up our ALL ABOUT unit in Writing and students will bring home their bundle of writing to share with their families. This week one of the highlights of our week was discovering lots of worms during recess on one of our rainy days! It is a joy to work with kids who have so much curiosity and wonder!
Next week we are looking forward to (hopefully!) viewing the the solar eclipse with our safety glasses near the end of the school day on Monday. If your child will be absent, please let the office know ahead of time, because it might be a busy day in the office. Next week we are looking forward to welcoming a new student into our classroom, Riho, who moved here from Japan! Also, please note that next Wednesday, 4/10, is an early release day, with the school day ending at 1:00 p.m.
