Dear Kindergarten Families,
One of our math activities this week was to play "Roll and Record" with 2 dice. This a game where kids roll two dice, determine the sum of the numbers, and record the result on a number graph. This activity gives kids practice with creating graphs, writing numbers, counting by 1s and/or learning addition math facts with more automaticity. See some photos below!
We have a lot of special events that we are looking forward to next week! Some parents are joining us for NAAPID (National African American Parent Involvement Day) on Monday 2/12. On Wednesday, 2/14 we are celebrating our Friendship Festival by passing out cards and valentines to our friends from 10:30-11:30. On Thursday, 2/15, we are celebrating our 100th day of school! (This new date has been determined after double-checking with other teachers in the school--and after a number of snow days this year!) Our celebration will be from 10:30-11:30. You can still sign up to help out HERE. Please make sure to sign in at the office and then meet us in the classroom!
On our wish list: We need empty paper towel tubes! If you have any, please send them to school with you child and thank you!
Please note that this Friday is Pajama day at Thurston!
